When are flights to Pakistan cheapest?
The UK–Pakistan market has one of the most predictable price calendars in aviation. Fares are driven by three peaks: the school summer holidays (July–August), the two Eids, and the December wedding season. Book outside those windows and a return to Islamabad or Lahore can cost 30–45% less.
The cheapest reliable windows are late January to early March and late September to mid-November. Airlines release their widest sale fares here because leisure demand from the Pakistani diaspora dips between family seasons.

Direct or one-stop — what's actually worth it?
PIA flies direct from London Heathrow and Manchester to Islamabad and Lahore — around 8 hours. Direct fares usually carry a £80–£150 premium over one-stops.
The strongest one-stop value is usually via the Gulf: Emirates or Qatar Airways through Dubai/Doha, or Turkish Airlines via Istanbul. Total journey 11–14 hours, generous 2×23kg baggage on most fares, and far more date flexibility in peak season.
For families with young children we usually recommend the direct where budget allows; for solo travellers the one-stop savings often fund several nights of the trip.
How far ahead should you book?
Off-peak (Feb, Oct): 4–8 weeks ahead is usually enough.
Eid and December: 3–5 months ahead. The cheapest fare buckets on the UK-bound return legs are always the first to sell out.
Summer: book by the end of March for July/August travel.
