Frequently asked
Pakistan tours — your questions answered
When is the best time to visit northern Pakistan?+
May to October is the main season for the Karakoram and Himalaya — roads are open and the valleys are green or golden. Spring (blossom, April–May) and autumn (colour, late September–October) are the most beautiful. Khunjerab Pass and Deosai are reliably open roughly May to November.
How much does a Pakistan tour from the UK cost?+
A 7-night Northern Explorer starts from around £1,099pp (with UK flights), a 10-night Hunza & Skardu tour from around £1,499pp, and a 12–14-night Grand North & Culture tour from around £1,999pp. All include flights, hotels, a private guide and transfers.
Is northern Pakistan safe for tourists?+
Gilgit-Baltistan and Hunza are popular, welcoming mountain regions visited by tourists from around the world. We plan every itinerary around current UK FCDO advice, use trusted local guides and drivers, and keep you informed. See the live advisory badge above.
Do I need a visa for Pakistan?+
Yes — UK passport holders need a visa. Pakistan's online e-Visa system is straightforward and we guide you through the application and provide the invitation/booking documents you need as part of your tour.
Will I have a private guide and transport?+
Yes — our tours are private and guided, with an experienced local guide, a driver and 4×4 jeeps (with porters where needed) for the mountain sections. You travel on your own schedule, not in a large coach group.
Can I pay a deposit on a Pakistan tour?+
Yes — for departures more than two months away, secure your tour with a low deposit and pay the balance 12 weeks before you travel. We accept debit/credit cards, PayPal and UK bank transfer.
Whether it's your roots or your bucket list, tell us your dates and we'll craft your perfect Pakistan journey.
